GOBIES
A little about
Gobies are one of the largest and most widespread fish families in the world. But they mainly live in the spring complexes of central Australia. Some of these habitats are more like damp swamps than clean ponds, and many are no bigger than a kitchen table.
As a consequence, the gobies that inhabit them are small – no bigger than five or six centimetres, and have the ability to take oxygen from the air when the springs dry back.

Why are they endangered? The Gobies are under a lot of threat because they are so small they make very easy prey for larger animals. Also the larger animals drink their water so its disrupting their habitat. |
Managent StrategiesLuckily now many organisations such as the non for profit Bush Heritage Australia and many others have been helping the species by protecting their habitats from larger animals.
